The 69th Winder Christmas Parade was held Dec. 9 on North Broad Street through downtown Winder, and winners for best float designs were announced recently.
Nearly 60 participants signed up to be part of the annual event, a highlight in Winder’s history.
Winder Fit Body, located on Atlanta Highway in Winder, was this year’s overall first place Float Design Winner.
Winder Fit Body entertained the crowd with its “Superhero-themed” float as Wonder Woman and Superman pulled a Jeep and trailer equipped with Superman’s telephone booth.
The Second place Float Design Winner went to Barrow Relay for Life with its Dr. Seuss inspired float and third place went to Integrity Dance Academy.
Barrow Relay for Life also won this year’s Mayor’s Choice Award and the Winder-Barrow High School Marching Band won the Best Non-Float Entry.
The parade grand marshal was long-time resident Mary Ford Sims. Winder parade special guest was Donna Cannon.
