- The Salukis are looking to end a four-game skid on Thursday night when they take on Evansville.

- Goalkeeper Chantelle Symes has made eight starts to lead SIU, allowing 12 goals and making 30 saves with a save percentage of .714.
- In her first season at SIU, freshman defender Veronica Gonzalez has played the most minutes on the roster with 885 minutes played. Fellow defender Kylie McDermott is second with 880.
- Bunch's 13 shots are the most on the team, followed by Spotak and Sam Dodd's nine.
Head CoachGraeme Orr
- Graeme Orris in his first season as head coach of the women's soccer program. Assistant coachesCarley KandelandAsh Phillipsare also in their first year with the Salukis, whileJake Edwardsreturns for his second season as a graduate assistant on the coaching staff.
- Orr comes to SIU after spending the previous 12 seasons as the head coach at Division II West Alabama. He was announced as the Salukis' head coach on May 30, 2023.
- The Eaglesham, Scotland native, was the first head coach in West Alabama women's soccer history, starting the program in 2011. During his 12 years with the program, Orr posted an overall record of 115-78-19 and conference record of 79-44-9.
- UWA recorded 10-consecutive and had 11-straight postseason appearances under Orr.
- Orr was previously an assistant coach at North Alabama before arriving at West Alabama.
Looking at Evansville
- The Purple Aces hold a record of 0-3-6 overall and 0-0-3 in conference play heading into Thursday.
- Evansville has posted a draw in each of its last four matches, including a 0-0 result at Murray State on Sunday, Sept. 24. Goalkeeper Myia Danek made six saves in the match.
- The Aces are looking for their first win of the season on Thursday night. The last time Evansville earned a victory was on Oct. 20, 2022, against Illinois State in the final match of the year.
- Chrysta Vasquez and Amy Velazquez have both found the back-of-the-net once so far this season.
- Danek is the leading goalkeeper, making nine starts, 38 saves, and allowing eight goals.
- Evansville's head coach is Chris Pfau, who has been with the Purple Aces for six seasons.
Series History
- The Salukis are 1-1-1 all-time against the Purple Aces.
- SIU and Evansville's last meeting was on Oct. 2, 2022, when Southern earned a 2-1 victory. Former Saluki Christy Murauskis scored the opener, and in the 89th minute, Spotak scored the game-winner for Southern Illinois.
