But while three of the contestants managed to rise to the occasion, one baker crumbled under pressure and was eventually sent home.

Who left the Great British Bake Off 2023 in Week 9?
This week's exit was a shocker, as Tasha became the latest contestant to leave the tent, missing out on the finals.
Tasha had won Star Baker twice before and showed great promise. However, when it came down to Patisserie Week, she fell short.
"It is OK. it’s so emotional to say goodbye to everyone, that’s when it really hit. They are amazing people. They really are friends for life.
"That is the really special thing about Bake Off, it is the most supportive and loving environment. It has changed me and made me realise I can do so much more than I am capable of. It’s a special place, and I am very lucky to be part of it," she said upon her exit.
Who left the Great British Bake Off 2023 in Week 8?
Cristy, 33, became the eighth contestant to leave the tent.
"I am so sorry to see Cristy go because she cares so much and she is a really, really good baker," Prue said.
Speaking of the show, Cristy added: "It has been such a crazy, fast-paced experience. So I can now sit back and reflect on what an amazing time I have had. I am really proud to have got this far. I am really proud."
Who left the Great British Bake Off 2023 in Week 7?
Saku was the seventh baker to leave the tent.
"I am so proud of myself. It is a privilege to be part of this lovely family. My heart was broken when it was announced I was leaving, and I was so disappointed in myself. The warm hugs and lovely words from fellow bakers, presenters and the crew were very comforting," she said of her exit.
"I also learned it is never too late to learn and enjoy a new hobby and be able to be very good at it!"
She added: "I will keep on baking and developing new recipes and I would like to carry on introducing Sri Lankan and exotic flavours into my bakes."
Who left the Great British Bake Off 2023 in Week 6?
Dana was the sixth baker to leave the tent.
"I knew it was me that was going to go home. I could sense it, so I hyped myself up for it. Obvs it would have been great to go further, but I am happy with how far I did come as I got over halfway through - which isn’t a bad place to be!" she said following her exit.
She added: "I am just kind of thinking of all the fun that I have had over the last six weeks, and that is what I am going to remember!
"I never thought I would get to Week 6. Bake Off came at just the right moment in my life, and I will never forget the experience. If I could time rewind and do it all again, I definitely would."
Who left the Great British Bake Off 2023 in Week 5?
Nicky and Rowan were the fourth and fifth contestants to leave the Bake Off tent.
Nicky, 52, is a retired cabin crewer and volunteer from the West Midlands. She describes her baking "like a pair of comfy old slippers; little traditional bakes that evoke fond memories".
Rowan was the youngest contestant on this year's show at 21 years old.
He hails from West Yorkshire and loves to apply his creative eye to his cooking, aiming for clean lines and interesting decoration in his finished bakes.
Who left the Great British Bake Off 2023 in Week 4?
Although Rowan and Cristy had a few wobbles in Chocolate Week, none of the bakers left this week as it was decided it wouldn't be fair with Tasha missing out on the Technical and Showstopper.

Who left the Great British Bake Off 2023 in Week 3?
Abbi, 27, from Cumbria, was the third baker to leave season 14.
"It’s OK, I knew it was coming. And you know what? I am really proud of myself. I never thought I would be able to do this, it has given me such a massive confidence boost and I have met such amazing people. I am going to remember it every day for the rest of my life, honestly! Although I am quite looking forward to getting back to my vegetables."
Who left the Great British Bake Off 2023 in Week 2?
Keith, 60, from Hampshire, was the second baker to leave season 14.
"It’s alright, I feel fine, there is nothing sad about this moment. I have had the most fantastic time. There were bruises up my arm from the first week as I was pinching myself every half-hour. I don’t know how many hours I will spend the rest of my life banging on about this," Keith said upon his exit.
Who left the Great British Bake Off 2023 in Week 1?
Unfortunately, it was the end of the road for Amos, as he became the first contestant to leave the Bake Off tent.
At the end of this week's baking challenges, Alison announced that Dan was the Star Baker, while Noel had the difficult job that no one wants of telling Amos, 43, that he would be the first baker to go home.
"It was obviously the Showstopper that stopped my show. As soon as I heard my name, I came out of my body. It has been amazing being in that group of people walking into the tent on the first day, and that is softening the blow a little bit," Amos said.
"Tomorrow, you will remember that you got into Bake Off," Prue said.
Following his Bake Off stint, Amos revealed what he gained from the show, saying: "What I have learned from my experience on Bake Off is that I can always bring anything together under pressure and that I’m now a part of an exclusive club.
"I will definitely keep on baking, and hope to maybe open up my own bakery and feed the world with love and cake - and who knows where it will take me."
The Great British Bake Off 2023 is on Channel 4 on Tuesdays at 8pm.
