OLIVE BRANCH - Barbara Jane Brown Houston, 83, formerly of Southaven, passed away peacefully May 26, 2015 in St. Petersburg, Fla. surrounded by her family. She was born in Meridian on Dec. 19, 1931 to the late Cecil and Mary Brown. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jack Houston. Survivors include her son, Jack Houston (Katherine); two grandchildren, Jack Houston II and Libby Houston, all of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brother, Glenn Brown of Meridian and Cecil Brown of Jackson; four nephews and two nieces. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, at Christ Presbyterian Church, 6860 Craft Rd., Olive Branch, MS 38654, followed by a celebration of life at 11 a.m. Graveside services will be held at Memorial Park South Woods Cemetery. Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Presbyterian Church in Olive Branch or to the John Jamieson “Jack” Houston Family Endowment at the University of Mississippi.
