What is Hot Topic Rewards?

Hot Topic Rewards is a free rewards program for our awesome Hot Topic customers. Earn points and rewards while you shop at any Hot Topic store or at HotTopic.com. You can also look forward to special offers and sales events exclusive to Hot Topic Rewards members.

How do I sign up for Hot Topic Rewards?

To join Hot Topic Rewards, see an associate at a Hot Topic store to enroll or sign up online at https://www.hottopic.com/joinnow

What are the benefits of joining Hot Topic Rewards?

For every 100 points, you will receive a $5 reward. Plus, you’ll receive special rewards for your birthday and Hot Topic Rewards anniversary. Gold and Platinum members will also earn a reward for leveling up. The benefits don’t stop there. As a member, you’ll get exclusive access to special events and more.

How old do I have to be to join Hot Topic Rewards?

To join you must be 13 years of age or older at the time of enrollment.

I live outside the United States, can I still join Hot Topic Rewards?

Hot Topic Rewards is available to individuals in the U.S., U.S. territories (including Puerto Rico), and Canada.

How do I track my membership status progress?

Keep track of your membership status by accessing your online account at https://www.hottopic.com/account

Is there an app?

Yes! Level up your Hot Topic Rewards experience with the app, available on iOS and Android

I already signed up at the store, how do I access my account online?

Go to www.hottopic.com/joinnow and choose Join Now. Complete the form and we'll find your account and help you set up a password so you can start earning points online, too.

How do I achieve Gold Status?

Spend $100 in a calendar year, and you will reach Gold status. As a Gold member, you earn 1.2 points per $1 dollar spent.

How do I achieve Platinum Status?

Spend $300 in a calendar year, and you will reach Platinum status. As a Platinum member, you earn 1.5 points per $1 dollar spent.

Do I have to requalify for my tier?

Gold and Platinum members have a year to enjoy their benefits before they must requalify. Gold and Platinum members will need to meet the spending requirements to requalify for their tier. By not requalifying members will be moved to the tier they earned.

How will you use my contact information?

I accidentally created two accounts. Can I combine them?

Yes, contact our Hot Topic Customer Care team at 1.800.892.8674 to combine accounts.

How do I stop getting emails from Hot Topic Rewards?

You may only unsubscribe from promotional emails by clicking the unsubscribe link in the footer of the promotional email or by sending an email to internetadministrator@hottopic.com with “Do Not Email” in the subject line. You may not unsubscribe from transactional and account related emails.

What can my points get me?

You will earn $5 after every 100 points are earned. The $5 will automatically be loaded into your account.

How do I earn points?

Earn points while you shop by letting store associates know you’re a Hot Topic Rewards member at checkout or logging in to your Hot Topic Rewards account online. Check your online account for additional ways to earn points. Then sit back, relax, and watch the points add up to your next reward.

How many points do I earn on my purchase?

For every dollar spent on a qualifying online or in-stores transaction you’ll earn points based on your membership status. Silver members will earn 1x their subtotal amount. Gold members will earn 1.2x their subtotal amount. Platinum members will earn 1.5x their subtotal amount. Points are not issued for taxes, shipping, or when gift cards are used as tender. How do I see how many points I have?

Keep track of your points by accessing your online account at https://www.hottopic.com/account.

Do my points expire?

Yes, points expire if there are no purchases made on your account for thirteen (13) consecutive months.

When do my points show up in my account?

Points usually post within 48 to 72 hours but can take up to 5 days. For online purchases, points do not post until the order is shipped and your credit card is charged.

What is considered a qualifying purchase?

Any merchandise purchase at a Hot Topic physical store or online store qualifies for points. Sales tax, shipping charges, and the redemption of rewards or coupons do not count towards points earned.

Can I earn points for buying or using a gift card?

Yes, when you purchase a gift card or use a gift card on your purchase you can earn points.

Can I earn points for my purchase on Amazon?

No, only purchases made at a Hot Topic physical store or online store qualify for points.

What happens to my points when I return items or items were cancelled?

Points will be deducted from your account for product returns. If there are not enough points available in your account, it will result in a negative point balance. Subsequent purchases will bring your status back to a positive balance.

I forgot to let the store associate know I am a HT Rewards member. Can I still get points for my purchase?

Yes, you may request point credit for a qualifying purchase within 30 days or the purchase by contact our Customer Care team at 1.800.892.8674. Be sure to have your online order number or the transaction number located at the bottom of the purchase receipt ready. Points will be issued once your transaction is confirmed as qualified.

Can I combine points with my friend(s) or family?

Members may not combine, transfer, or share points or rewards with other members' accounts.

Rewards

How do I earn rewards?

Every 100 points will earn you $5. Every year you’ll get a birthday and anniversary gift (amount varies by tier). Gold and Platinum members will earn a level-up reward when they enter their new membership status.

How do I see what rewards I have available?

To keep track of your rewards, access your online account at https://www.hottopic.com/account. If you’re opted in to receive our emails, we’ll send you an alert when you have an available reward.

Where can I use my reward?

You can use your reward at any Hot Topic store or at www.hottopic.com.

Do my rewards expire?

You have forty-five (45) days from the date of issuance to redeem the reward.

What do my rewards get applied towards?

Rewards are applied to the subtotal of purchase. Rewards cannot be used for gift cards, prior purchases, shipping and handling fees, taxes or donations.

Are there any exclusions when using or redeeming a reward?

Yes. Rewards cannot be used for gift cards, prior purchases, shipping, handling, taxes, or donations. Also, you will not be able to use your reward unless it is used in its entirety. For example, if your subtotal is $3, you’ll be unable to use a $5 reward.

Can I use my reward with other offers?

Yes, rewards can be used with other offers.

How many rewards can I redeem at one time?

For in-store transactions, use as many rewards as you want. Online, you can use up to ten (10) rewards per transaction.

When will I get my reward?

Rewards will be added to your account within 24 hours of earning 100 points. Birthday Rewards are sent via email on the 1st calendar day of your birthday month. Anniversary Rewards are sent via email on the anniversary of your sign-up date. Level-up Rewards are sent via email within 48 hours of your membership upgrade date.

I signed up during my birthday month. Where is my $5 Birthday Reward?

If you signed up after the 1st calendar day of the month, you will have to wait until the following year during your birthday month to receive the $5 Birthday Reward. Hot Topic sends out birthday rewards on the 1st calendar day of each month.

What happens to my reward if I make a return?

Rewards cannot be returned. We will refund the amount you paid for the transaction, but you will not get your reward back.

Do Hot Topic Rewards Gold and Platinum members earn rewards differently?

Gold and Platinum members will earn an upgrade reward when they level up to a new membership status. The rate at which Gold and Platinum members earn points is 20% and 50% faster, respectively. For every $1 spent Gold members will earn 1.2x the amount. For every $1 spent Platinum members will earn 1.5x the amount.
