Grains are an essential to a type A diet. Eat one or more servings daily along with alkaline foods to preserve acid/alkaline balance in muscles.
Grains, especially whole grains, are an essential to a type A diet. Grains are naturally low in fat and are good sources of complex carbohydrates, some key vitamins and minerals. They've been linked to a lower risk of heart disease, diabetes, certain cancers, and other health problems.
Type A's can eat these foods one or more times daily but select more-concentrated whole grains.
Type A's with a pronounced mucus condition caused by asthma or frequent infections should limit wheat consumption, which causes mucus production.
Wheat-eating type A's must balance intake of acid-forming wheat with alkaline foods (see fruits) to preserve the acid/alkaline balance in muscles. Type A's do best when muscle tissues are slightly alkaline.
