With more cooking surface on the Spirit II, you won't have to spend extra time in front of the grill, waiting for one batch to be done before you get on to the next batch of food. The new Spirit II E-310 gas grill has 3413cm² of cooking area that lets you feed up to 10 people.

Because the Spirit II is being discontinued, they can be found at a discount. A local farm store was offering an extra $100 off the natural gas models, bringing the price of a two burner down to $229.

It can handle just about any common grilled food and gets hot enough to sear meat and impart attractive grill marks. It's all-around a solid performer, and very reliable. All that, and it is priced fairly, at under $500.

How does it compare to similar models and predecessors? The Spirit II is the successor to the original Spirit E-310. It's a much better grill than the original - cheaper, more compact, and better looking. The two large plastic wheels are more maneuverable than the four small caster wheels on the original.

Spirit Grills. Weber Genesis grills are almost twice the size of smaller Spirit models, and differ with stainless steel flavorizer bars compared to the porcelain enameled bars on the Spirit line. Both lines feature porcelain enameled cast iron cooking grates on most models and use three burners.

The high level difference between the two series is that Weber Spirit grills are designed to be more of a “bare bones” grill, it is suitable for beginners. whereas the Genesis series grills are more advanced and loaded with extra features. It is suitable for intermediate or advanced grillers.

Owners of smaller grills with single burner control will appreciate that the Spirit II grills comes with individual burner controls (the E-210 comes with two burners while the E-310 has three).
