White Lily Cookie (Korean: 세인트릴리 쿠키, seintu-lilli kuki, "Saint Lily Cookie") is one of the five Ancient Heroes in Cookie Run: Kingdom. She was the final Ancient Cookie to become playable, releasing in the Secrets of the Silver Kingdom update (v5.0) alongside Silverbell Cookie. She is of the Bomber type and her position is prioritized to the Middle.

She carries the Light of Freedom in her Soul Jam and plays a pivotal role in the events of Cookie Run: Kingdom. She is Pure Vanilla Cookie's treasured close friend and an honored figure of the Faerie Kingdom, seeking out secrets for the good of Cookiekind.

Game Description[]

A solitary beam of moonlight shines in the twilight. Like a pale lily touched by the gentle drops of rain, a Cookie silently entered the world. Her petals might look soft, and her dough frail, but nothing could stop her steps as she explored every corner of Earthbread, seeking a safer and happier future for all Cookiekind. Alas, at the end of her journey, all she found was the dark truth of this world. That truth painted her faith and curiosity with despair and anger, awakening a terrifying darkness deep within. Will White Lily Cookie find her lost voice once again amidst the deafening silence? With a seed of hatred and despair in her heart, will she walk towards the light once more?

	A pure white lily bud bursts open, dealing periodic damage to enemies and additional damage depending on the number of buffs White Lily Cookie has on herself. Enemies affected by the skill will become entangled in Vines, becoming unable to move or use skills. Whenever her or an ally Cookie gains a debuff, she will gain the Lily Restoration buff, and whenever White Lily Cookie uses her skill, she will gain Lily Restoration buffs. Once Lily Restoration reaches a certain number of stacks, it will purify all current debuffs on the allies and heal them. White Lily Cookie is immune to the Spore Dispersal and Mushroom Mutation effects.

Appearance[]

White Lily Cookie is a partially tall Cookie with pale brown dough and dark fuchsia eyes, with eyelashes underneath them. She has messy white hair with a long braid, both resembling upside-down white lilies. She wears a vine headband with a white lily and few leaves on her hair.

Her outfit is a green sleeveless dress fading into white at the top, adorned by white dots in lines, resembling dew covered leaves. It is paired with a dark green translucent cape and green bands covering half of her arms and hands.

Her flower staff is green, with a fading white pointed tip at the bottom. The staff is twisted towards the top to form two leaves, joined with her Soul Jam and a half-open white lily on it.

Young Appearance[]

Between her receiving the Soul Jam and her days in the Blueberry Yogurt Academy, White Lily Cookie lacked her vine headband and arm bands. Her hair was parted to the side, rather than having a segment in between her eyes. Her dress was much simpler, being completely green instead of fading to white and having the lines and dots. Her cape was also different, only going down to her ankles and going up a little to resemble a collar. Her staff lacked its white fade or twisted top, and the white lily on it had yet opened.

Personality[]

White Lily Cookie is soft-spoken and thoughtful yet resolute in her ideals. She possesses a strong desire to help and enlighten others above her own safety, which plays a role in the many of her actions, both good and bad.

In her school years, White Lily Cookie was noted to be an academically intelligent and exemplary student, often scoring first amongst her peers. Because of this, she would skip class in favor of her personal research, as she felt that she gained little from the education taught in her classes. White Lily Cookie is full of curiosity, stopping at nothing in the pursuit of answers, especially in regards to the subject of the creation of Cookies. Her curiosity, however, led her to cross moral boundaries irresponsibly, which would ultimately lead to harm. Upon remembering what she'd done in the present, White Lily Cookie realizes the immense pain that her actions had brought, viewing herself as unforgivable once she realizes where her path had taken her.

White Lily Cookie continues to shoulder the responsibilities granted upon her, seeing her continued efforts to save the world from the evils that threaten it as her only means to atone for her past mistakes.

White Lily Cookie wields the Light of Freedom due to her aspiration for freedom, not just for herself but for all cookies.

Character Inspiration[]

White Lily Cookie takes inspiration from the white lily plant (Lilium candidum, Madonna Lily). With the petal shape throughout her design and the flower adorning her head resembling this specific flower. Along with other generic plant motifs like the white spots on her dress resembling dew drops, other types of lilies can be seen referenced in her design. Namely, her staff resembles a calla lily (Zantedeschia aethiopica, arum lily) and the end of her braid may be a subtle nod to a lily of the valley (Convallaria majalis).

• White Lily Cookie may be inspired by Saint Mary of Christianity.
  • White Lily Cookie possesses the hallmark traits of a virgin-archetype character, like virtuousness, purity, modesty, and devotion. All of these qualities are attributed symbolically to white lilies, which are often referred to as Madonna lilies.
  • White Lily Cookie's Soul Jam bears a shape resembling a fleur-de-lis. The fleur-de-lis, meaning "flower of the lily" in French, is closely associated with Christianity and Saint Mary in particular.

• 

  Alternatively, White Lily Cookie could be an analogy to Eve of Adam and Eve, as her pursuit of the forbidden knowledge needed to engineer a living being and of the truth of the world in general reflects Eve's seeking of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. By similarity of name and her eventual fate, she could also be analogous to Lilith; alternatively, she could perhaps represent even Lucifer himself, adhering to the quite literal fall of a once highly loved and respected hero into the most hated villain.
• White Lily Cookie's original name in the original Korean version of Kingdom (세인트릴리 쿠키/seinteulilli kuki) translates to Saint Lily Cookie in English.
  • While no religions are known to have a saint named Lily, there is Saint Kateri of Christianity, who is known as the Lily of the Mohawks. Saint Kateri is a patron saint of numerous aspects such as the environment, exiles, those without family, and the pious, all of which relate to White Lily Cookie. The similarity is likely only a coincidence, but it is substantial enough to warrant noting.
• In connection with what is learned in Episode 8 and Tragedy at the Tower, many notes in White Lily Cookie's design can be seen as allusions to her connection to Dark Enchantress Cookie's birth. This includes features such as her magenta eyes, white hair, and similar shape language.

• According to her loading screen trivia, "It is unknown where and how White Lily Cookie obtained her trusty lily staff."
• Up until the Theater of Lies update (v5.1), White Lily Cookie was the only Ancient Hero to not reign over a kingdom of her own. She is now the leader of the Faerie Kingdom and the Guardian of the Silver Tree's Seal.
• White Lily Cookie's description on the 3rd Anniversary of Cookie Run: Kingdom website states:
  • On a moonlit night, a Cookie blossomed into existence, exuding the essence and fragrance of a pure white lily. All her life, she thirsted for the truth—always within her reach, yet dissipating like smoke when she tried to grasp it… White Lily Cookie herself could not have foreseen her descent into darkness when finally faced with the grim truth… Will White Lily Cookie’s true voice ring out and shatter the darkness one day? And when the fated day arrives, will she choose light over evil?
• White lilies (species Lilium candidum) carry symbolism that relates closely to White Lily Cookie; they are representative of both (re)birth and death and, as an extension, grief. This can relate to both the mystery of White Lily Cookie's birth and the tragedy lacing her backstory and history.
  • Interestingly, a number of the lilies used in her design are only lilies in name and not true lilies. The white lily in her hair is considered a true lily, but the calla lily of her staff is not.
• White Lily Cookie's Soul Jam resembles a Fleur-de-lis, a French heraldry symbol of a blooming lily.

• 

  Pure Vanilla Cookie and White Lily Cookie appear to have been hinted a year prior to Cookie Run: Kingdom's reveal, as shown in Roguefort Cookie's skill background.
• In Cookie Run: OvenBreak, an event was held to promote the release of Cookie Run: Kingdom. One of the rewards given by this event was a "The Great Kingdoms" Jelly Set, which features the Ancient Heroes as Bear Jellies.
  • White Lily Cookie is referred to in the set as "Pure Rainbow Hero Jelly". Its description reads, "Purity of heart, purity of mind can bring great strength."
• White Lily Cookie's beta art samples that can be found in the The Art of Cookie Run: Kingdom, shows that her concept designs carried more potential nods towards her connection to Dark Enchantress Cookie. Including her facial expression mirroring hers more, her staff having a similar shape, and the shape of her bangs being closer to those of Dark Enchantress Cookie. These were all toned down in her final design.
• White Lily Cookie is tied with Black Pearl Cookie for the longest gacha pull sequence out of any Cookie in the game.
• A humanized, high-schooler rendition of White Lily Cookie known as Lily White appears in Romance Kingdom, a romantic visual novel parody Event which appeared for April Fools Day 2023. There, she is an enigmatic (and perhaps even ghostly) student who secludes herself in the school's science lab and controls the very reality of the school itself.
• White Lily Cookie is the first Ancient Hero—and fifth Cookie overall—to have their own Costume at the same time as their release.
• As seen in the Prologue, White Lily Cookie's original Skill voice line had her say "Repent!" instead of her current voice line, "This is my penitence!."
• White Lily Cookie's name in the original Korean text of Cookie Run: Kingdom is 세인트릴리 쿠키 (seintu-lilli kuki), which translates to Saint Lily Cookie in English. As no explanation for the change has been given, it can only be speculated that her name was changed during localization to maintain religious neutrality in the series.
• White Lily Cookie's English voice actress, Erica Mendez, also provides the voice of Black Pearl Cookie.
  • Mendez is also roommates with Lucien Dodge, the English voice actor of Clover Cookie.
• White Lily Cookie's Taiwanese voice actress, Zhan Yajing, also provides the voices of Custard Cookie III, Strawberry Crepe Cookie and Weapon Merchant Cookie.
