June, July, and August are the summer months, and June is by far the most popular wedding month of the three, if not in the whole year. Summer weddings get a bad rap because of the heat—especially here in Texas—but just like with spring showers, weather is easy to contend with when you choose the right venue.
With a summer wedding, you have more daylight to get all your photos in and you can go with a casual dress code without turning down any of the glamour. The grass and trees are all perfectly green, and you can have your pick of flowers and catering options.

June and July are also more popular for not only weddings but also family travel, graduations, summer camp, and more, so August might be more open for your guest list.

Fall Weddings: September, October, & November

January and February meanwhile offer all the same cozy feelings—minus Christmas—with fewer obstacles.
While it doesn’t snow often in Texas, snowstorms in other parts of the country can throw a major wrench in your guests’ travel plans, so if you’re inviting lots of out-of-towners, winter may not be the season for you.

But if you’ve got a large guestlist and want as many attendees as possible, aim for May, June, and October so you can fit into their schedules.

If you’re planning a wedding in under a year, or less than six months even, you’ll probably need to consider having a weekday wedding to ensure you get one of the peak months—or you can use it as an opportunity to choose one of the less popular wedding months!
