For the fourth year in a row, we’ve asked Boston.com readers to tell us their favorite adult-use dispensaries in Greater Boston, and with your help, we’ve created a guide — and comprehensive map — to the best pot shops in the region.
This year’s guide was compiled from the recommendations of nearly 2,000 votes and includes more than 100 dispensary locations in and around Boston, including 36 first-time dispensary recommendations from readers. Some of those new shops include Apex Noire, Quincy Cannabis Co., High Hopes Cannabis, and more.

Among this year’s top recommendations are industry pioneers and fan-favorites from previous years, including NETA, Triple M, and Bud’s Goods & Provisions. A number of newcomers, like Cal Verde Naturals, a women-owned dispensary in Belmont, and South Shore’s Elevated Roots, also joined readers’ favorites.
No matter the business, trust was the factor that came up the most as readers cast their votes — trust in the product, people, and the confidence in a good deal.
When voting for Cal Verde Naturals, one reader reiterated the need for confidence in a dispensary.
“Their employees are so smart and so kind and helpful. I trust their opinions on everything and they’ve never steered me wrong … and you can tell they really care about their customer,” they said.
Below, you’ll find readers’ top 10 favorite dispensaries for 2024, along with a map of all reader-recommended locations across the state.
Top 10 favorite dispensaries in Massachusetts, according to readers:
Note: Boston.com sifted through thousands of responses to determine the ten dispensaries that most clearly generated positive responses from readers. Those shops are listed below in alphabetical order. Featured reader quotes are from 2024.
Bud’s Goods & Provisions
Multiple locations
Bud’s Goods & Provisions, is among Boston.com’s top reader picks for the second year in a row, a fact that our readers say is owed to their unbeatable prices, great selection of products, and friendly employees. At Bud’s, you’ll find curated lines of locally-sourced flower, pre-rolls, edibles, concentrates, vapes, accessories, and more at their locations in Worcester, Abington, and Watertown.

“The staff is always welcoming and friendly. They always know which products are best, and they always have a great attitude. I leave this dispensary with a smile on my face every time! In addition, they have a wonderful selection and fabulous prices. I’m a big fan and will always recommend,” said Victoria M. from Whitman.
Cal Verde Naturals
1010 Pleasant St. Suite A, Belmont
Cal Verde Naturals is a first-time recommendation in our best dispensaries guide and has already won high praise from readers. The women-owned dispensary believes “cannabis can enhance any lifestyle.” Readers say they’re doing their jobs well by offering expert guidance and quality selection to all customers.
“This women-owned dispensary is tops! Great accessible location and impeccably clean inside. Staff is friendly, uber courteous, and knowledgeable. They will spend time to educate you on every aspect of each manufacturer and their products. Hope they open more locations!” Al from East Medford shared.
Elevated Roots
Multiple locations
Readers say they love Elevated Roots for its showroom, where customers can see the products before purchasing — perfect if you’re looking for recommendations from some of the “best selection in the state.” And big things are coming for the South Shore dispensary this spring, including becoming a licensed cultivation facility, a new in-house flower brand, and a new shop in Abington.

“I love the staff, and I especially love being able to see the product prior to purchasing it. The staff is very helpful, always guiding people to what will work best for them. They are so honest and amazing they even called me to let me know they gave me the wrong change, and to come back and get it. Top notch service and products. Won’t go anywhere else!” Sam D. from Plymouth shared.
Garden Remedies
Multiple locations
With shops in Melrose, Newton, and Marlborough, at-home delivery in Boston, and a wide selection of products, there’s something for everyone who visits Garden Remedies. Readers most frequently praised the variety of products at this dispensary, calling it “innovative and unmatched.”
“Knowledgeable staff who are beyond friendly. Never feel rushed and they take the time to make sure you get exactly what you need. They view their products not only as a recreational activity but also understand the importance of meeting medicinal needs by offering a huge variety of products,” said K from Newton.
Happy Valley
220 William McClellan Highway, East Boston
Happy Valley is a vertical brand, meaning they sell their own product lines. Readers say this results in better quality and more knowledgeable staff. If you stop by, try something from their line of edible, which many readers say are a highlight of their selection.
“Happy Valley always has some of the best products and deals out there. Their product is always consistent and good. I love how they sell their own brand as it shows they stand behind their stuff,” said Sam from Gloucester.
High Profile x Budega
Multiple locations

High Profile is new to Boston.com’s reader-recommended dispensary guide and has some enthusiastic supporters. Their shops are some of a few “deli-style” dispensaries in the area, meaning staff members weigh out your buds in front of you from bulk flower jars. And if that’s not what you’re looking for, their menu also features plenty of pre-rolls, concentrates, edibles, and more.
“Always have a great product selection, great prices, kind staff, clean dispensary,” said Amanda from Dorchester. “Definitely for the people!”
NETA
Multiple locations
NETA, Greater Boston’s first dispensary, has been a top 10 reader recommendation four years in a row. Fans of the original Brookline location say they love this dispensary because it has its focus on quality and customer experience, but the locations in Northampton and Franklin have plenty of fans too.
“NETA has the best flower in Mass., hands down. Straight fire. The staff there is always friendly and happy to help recommend new strains or products to try. They always have awesome promos on vapes and flower compared to other local dispensaries and give me the most nugg for the dollar,” said Adam R. from Brookline.
Rooted In
331 Newbury St., Boston
This minority-owned dispensary opened on Newbury Street with a mission to give back to communities of color in Boston. The shop employs people who have been “negatively impacted by the war on drugs” and shares a portion of proceeds directly with employees.

“Although Rooted In is one of the newer dispensaries, it seems like it’s always been around. Walking into this boutique store feels like a mom-and-pop shop that everyone in the neighborhood frequents,” shared Peter L. from Boston. “I love the energy and vibe of this place and the customer service is top-notch. Looking forward to my next visit here. Y’all are doing a fabulous job.”
Triple M Dispensary
Multiple locations
“Weed you can trust, staff you can trust. Simple as,” said Maggie N. from Marstons Mills.
Readers especially praised the dispensary’s regular deals on ounces for $50, $60, and $70 as well as the friendliness and expertise of their budtenders.
“Triple M is full of dispensers who are welcoming, and extremely knowledgeable about product offerings. If you’re a regular at this dispensary, it’s likely that security, reception, and the dispenser will know your name and remember your previous purchases to follow-up on how your experience was. Triple M always makes me feel like part of the family,” said Nicole S. from Middleborough.
Western Front
Multiple locations
Fans of Western Front say they come for the quality and variety of its products, plus friendly staff at every location. The minority-owned shop was Chelsea’s first dispensary and has since opened two locations in Cambridge.
“Great staff and awesome selection! The vibes are always awesome whenever I go in there. Such a beautiful place in the Harvard Square location. Prices are unbeatable,” said Marilyn S. from Newton.
