After a stint in the airforce during the war (1137 days on the North Atlantic in rescue), Ralph settled in Hamilton where he met and married Audrey. Ralph retired from the City of re Hamilton in 1979 where he was employed as an electrical operator at the Sewage Treatment Plant. Ralph is survived by sons Richard and his wife Irene of Woodstock and their children Michael and Tracy; Daryl and his wife Michelle of Hamilton and their children Summer, Mandy, Misty, Penny and Velvet; sisters Thelma (Mrs. Bill Butler) of Newburgh; Freda (Mrs. Cam Burke) of Simcoe Island; Reta (Mrs.

A graduate of Toronto General Hospital of Nursing, Lorna undertook post-graduate studies at the Toronto Psychiatric Hospital for one year, and received a BA (1947) from Queen's University. Lorna received an MA (1954) after attending Teacher's College, Columbia University on a Kellogg Foundation Fellowship. Lorna Horwood had a distinguished professional career. She was Superintendent of Nurses in psychiatric hospitals in London and Whitby, Ontario and was Plant Nurse at the CIL Plant in Kingston.

She served one year as a Public Health Nurse for the city of Toronto. Lorna was appointed Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing and Health at the University of British Columbia in 1948. Appointed by the World Health Organization as Senior Advisor in Public Health Nursing, Lorna served in Taipei, Taiwan for 8 years and in Bangkok, Thailand for 4 years. Upon her return to Canada, she held several advisory positions both in Vernon, BC and with Department of Health and Welfare in the Canadian Arctic. Lorna retired to her home, near Nanoose Bay, BC where she lived happily for 20 years.

Lorna was greatly loved and respected by her extended family, which included close friends, and dear colleagues around the world. A Memorial Service will be held at McCall Bros. KCH 1010 OBITUARIES Dorothy Irene Brawley After a lengthy illness, Dorothy Brawley of Sydenham Ontario, passed away at the Kingston General Hospital on October 1996, she was 73 years of age. Mrs. Brawley was the daughter of the late Bernice and Archie Carde and was born in Yarker, Ontario. She was a member of the United Church, a former member of the Canadian for: esters and two time Noble Grand of the Princess Elizabeth Rebekah Lodge Harrowsmith, (40 year member). Mrs Brawley was an active member of the lodge, enjoyed ski-dooing, dancing! nature and her family.

She is survived by her husband Don, son Wayne, daughter-in-law Belva, grand, Corey and Jodey, sisters Thelma Godin (Gabe) of Kingston and Florence Lavinski (Al) of Camden East and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; Bernice and Archie Carde and her brother Russell Carde. The Funeral was held on October 10, 1996 with Mrs. Betty Foster officiating: Pallbearers were Raymond Snider. Murray Snider, Jack Carde, Dan Smith, Howard Warner and Gordon Irwin.

Interment was at Sydenham Cemetery. Marjorie Alice Pierce Of Verona, passed away on September 26, 1996, at Kingston General Hospital. She was 58. Mrs. Pierce was born August 3, 1938 in Tamworth.

Retired from Revell Ford for 18 years. Marjorie was member of Annunciation Church, church choir, Catholic Women's League, United Empire Loyalists and the Sweet Adalines. Her special interests were music (guitar, choir, organ), artist, sports, crafts and travel. Loving mother of Bob and his wife Sharon of Lethbridge, Alberta; Dana Barrette and her husband Paul of Yarker; Susan Struthers and her husband Bob of Medicine Hat, Alberta. Devoted nana of Jason, Matthew, Taylor, Benjamin, Kendra, MacKenzie and Daisy.

The Funeral was held Saturday, September 28, 1996 at the Church of Annunciation, Chippewa, Enterprise with Rev. Father Peter Murphy and Father Ed Keyes officiating. Interment held in An. nunciation Cemetery, Enterprise. The pallbearers were John Steel, Ken Immoff.
