Thai Chili Peppers | Crystal Valley Foods | Growing Importing Distributing (2024)

The Thai chili pepper, also called bird’s eye chili when dried, is a small, thin pepper that packs a lot of heat. It is about 50,000 to 100,000 Scoville units which, on a scale of hotness, puts it in between a jalapeno and a habanero pepper. A Thai chili pepper is a green color when immature and it turns red upon maturation.

Thai chili peppers are popular in Asian cuisine and loved for the spicy, sweet flavor they add to dishes. They can be added (cooked or uncooked) to curries, dressings, marinades, salads, soups, and dips. You can also sauté, stir-fry or boil them.

Crystal Valley imports fresh red and green Thai chili peppers year-round from the Dominican Republic.
