This semester, I had the opportunity to enroll in my first business sales class - MKT 342: Foundation of Personal Selling, taught by Dr. Raj Agnihotri. At the beginning of the semester, we were assigned a case study to review and prepare for. We would role play in two mock sales throughout the duration of the class. In these scenarios, I played the role of a Business Development Representative at Trinity Logistics, a third-party logistics transportation company. I would sell to actual Trinity Logistics employees, who in the role play scenarios, posed as a fake company, Healthy Choices.This opportunity has strengthened my overall professional business skills, allowing me to apply sales topics in a real-world setting. I am extremely grateful to have placed fourth among my fellow fifty classmates! I would like to thank all of the Trinity Logistics employees who traveled to Ames for this Sales Competition. I am especially thankful for Raj Agnihotri, Kelsey Brown, & Jamie Sass, who have created a great support system for me, assisting me every step of the way! I am excited to continue the growth of my sales knowledge within the Iowa State University - Ivy College of Business.

As my summer Sales Internship comes to an end, I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude toward everyone who has had an impact on my experience here at Athene. First, I would like to extend a special thank you toward my managers Heather Fitzpatrick and Jered Bane for guiding me along the way throughout this program. Your leadership has provided me with the skills and resources needed to successfully learn what a true sales position requires. Secondly, I would like to thank the entire Sales Department, especially the IMO Internal Wholesaler's Team, all of you have played a special role in my internship by ensuring my transition to the work environment was seamless! Ellen Renner and Jake Paulsen, I deeply appreciate you two as you've both been extremely positive role models and mentors for me to look up to. I can't wait to see what success both of your future's hold!Lastly, I would like to thank my fellow Sales InternsMackenzie Blomgren, Audra Wilkinson, and Jack Algrim for creating an inclusive and phenomenal environment within the workplace. I look forward to watching us all portray the industry knowledge we've obtained with Athene into our next school year at Iowa State University and within our future careers.This internship has taught me how to utilize many programs, such as Salesforce, Workday, and Veritas in order to proficiently communicate with producers. As my second year at Iowa State University has come to an end, I am extremely excited to start my new position as a Sales Intern for Athene at their West Des Moines office.I would like to thank everyone who has made this possible and extend a special thank you to Brynjar Johnston for assisting me through the interview process. I am grateful for the opportunity to further my professional experience through this internship alongside an amazing team at Athene.
