I am just bursting to talk about #thefinalfour and #thefemalequotient of #CaitlinClark--now the #NCAA's all-time leading scorer for both women and men! I'm in awe of how far women's basketball has come, the parallels to women in business, and the lessons hoops can to teach to pretty much anyone-- irrespective of gender or profession. As I reflect on my own basketball journey in the 80s where at 5'2" and 98 pounds, I made all-county and all-state teams, had opportunities to play in college, and the WNBA wasn't even a thing. But the impact of the sport is in the invaluable leadership lessons I learned on the court and apply in my life every day. Which one speaks to you?🏀 resilience, bouncing back🏀teamwork, success is NEVER a solo journey🏀adaptability, quickly pivoting on the court is the same as adjusting tactics in a dynamic, and fast paced business environment 🏀strategy, anticipating the moves of your own teammates and opponents in order to score🏀being "smaller" but skilled and nimble; playing like you are 7 feet tall!Let's continue to support and celebrate incredible athletes, whether it's our kids or Caitlin, and the lessons they teach us. #Leadership #WomenInSports #Entrepreneurship #BreakingBarriers #funfriday #WomenInFranchising (Photo credit: Asbury Park Press, Mom's Scrapbook, 1985).

As I embrace my new vibrant age today, I find myself reflecting on the journey that has brought me "here" and the path I intend to forge in the coming year. A birthday is an opportunity to celebrate and set intentions, both personally and professionally--a yearly rebirth of sorts.I proudly acknowledge the wealth of wisdom I've gathered over the years, earned through experiences, wins, and challenges. This wisdom isn't just for keeping; it's for sharing, guiding, and inspiring others who walk their own paths. But being a "wisdomer" doesn't mean the end of learning. I remain committed to a growth mindset. The beauty of this journey is in understanding that there's always more to learn, more perspectives to consider, and more highs to achieve. So on my birthday, and this #motivationmonday, I invite you--whether from my #franchise, #health, #medtech or #entrepreneurial communities--to share an inspiring quote, perspective, or insight that you believe could aid in my journey as an advisor, board member, entrepreneur, mom, or contributor in the universe. #Inspire me! I'll share that I hope to live with more intention, be open to continuous growth, and nourish meaningful connections that enhance my wealth in health and time. And as Coach Prime says, "be where my feet are".

When the President of your Alma Mater asks if you’re free for lunch because he’s coming through Colorado, you say, “Yes!” In a world where specialization is seemingly more valued at this moment in time, I'm proud of my liberal arts education at Gettysburg College and how the school is proactive in staying relevant while honoring its core values. Liberal arts provides a path that values curiosity, creativity and a broad spectrum of knowledge for lifelong learning. Show of hands...how many of you majored in a subject that is directly correlated to what you are doing now vs. it being a step in a long journey of discovery about life, the universe and everything? When I guest lecture or mentor students stressing about picking the perfect classes, I am fond of telling my story. I was a French major. My path to where I am now was far from a straight line. Do you think I came out of college--even business school at Thunderbird School of Global Management— knowing I was going to #franchise a popcorn business, be part of the founding team of a #medtech business; advise countless of other emerging brands? But every step in the journey enabled passions, skills, and a common thread of a growth mindset. And the reality is, in order to work in today's world, learning never ends.It was inspiring to reconnect and meet Bob Luliano and also Kathleen Fahey Regentin. Wishing them well in continuing to attract the right students to Orange and Blue. #gettysburgcollege #dogreatwork #collegeeducation #liberalarts #inspirationmonday

“The question isn’t who’s going to let me; it’s who’s going to stop me?” This is how I want my daughter to think. This is how I want all the women in the companies I invest in/work with to think. It's how I'd like all women to think. Today I celebrate my network of unstoppable women I've had the pleasure of mentoring, being mentored by or just watching in awe (more aptly). May we all choose to embrace every challenge as an opportunity to learn and grow, stay connected to build each other up, and lead with confidence-- in our homes, and out in the world. Tag some "unstoppable" woman in your life. When is the last time you wrote or received a handwritten note? And how did it make you feel?!Today is National Write a Letter to Elders Day--a day dedicated to honoring and connecting with those who have shaped our lives, and our businesses, with wisdom and experiences. We deeply value the contributions of our "Wisdomer" community who bring a wealth of knowledge, history and gravitas to us as part of teams, boards and lives-- contributing greatly to our growth and success. I challenge you! Take a moment out from your fast-paced, ai-driven day, put down your phone, and pick up a pen. Write a heartfelt letter to express gratitude and appreciation to someone who was instrumental to your career journey, a family member who offered sage advice or a senior colleague whose stories inspired you. I promise it will make your day, and theirs! Who will you choose? #nationalwritealettertoeldersday #respectelders #mentorship #gratitude #motivationmondays #inspiration

Just had to get in a one last mention about #IF24 highlights. It's all about the people--and it's just too bad there isn't a screen large enough to include them all. But you all know who you are, whether you are pictured or not. So many amazing people driving businesses that create significant jobs and fill critical consumer needs all over the US and around the world. Whether franchisor, franchisee, or franchise partner--the world of #franchising is the place to be. Proud to be a part of it all. #franchisefamily #funfriday

As #IFA24 comes to a close, I'll be excited to share a few of my personal highlights--starting with how truly blessed we were to have Deion Sanders, Head Football Coach for the University of Colorado Boulder as a keynote speaker, with Wanda Williams brilliantly (and patiently) leading the interview. My top 10 takeaways. 1. "What's Your Rabbit?" A fresh twist on Simon Sinek's "What's Your Why?" Coach Prime asks,"What makes you leap out of bed without an alarm?"2. Look Beneath the Surface: Value "Unpolished Gems"It's important to recognize and nurture potential that is beyond the obvious--the unpolished diamonds in the rough, like investing in raw talent and unconventional ideas you get to help shape. 3. "Be Where Your Feet Are:" The Power of PresenceTrue leadership and inspiration come from being fully present. You can't dominate your moments if your mind is elsewhere. (This is a lifelong journey for me personally!)4. Resilience: Bad Moments, Not Bad DaysAdopt a mindset that refuses to let a bad moment turn into a bad day.5. Control Your Narrative: Self-Empowerment"You hold the remote control to your life." Your self-perception shapes your reality. What you tell yourself is who you are.6. Dominate Your Moments: The Winning MindsetDominating your opportunities and maximizing moments is key, even when you don't feel 'enough'. "You gotta want it...you gotta work it..you gotta win it"--in the moments.7. Life Goes Beyond the ScoreboardSuccess isn't just about wins and losses but preparing for life's broader victories--the long game. Coach Prime knows his team doesn't win all the games (today). But his players, the students, the University, the town of Boulder and the entire nation know "We're Coming!" Both on and off the field.8. Break Free from External ValidationStop letting others measure your success. Define it on your own terms. 9. Learn From What Went RightShift focus from what went wrong, to what you did well--so you can be in a positive mindset to move forward.10. Be a Blessing, Not a Stressing. This is so good because you have opportunities every day to make someone feel good or bad about their work, or themselves. It just feels better to bless vs. stress!Coach Prime's insights are not just about personal or professional success; they're about living a life that's a blessing to others. As leaders in #franchising or in any industry, integrating these lessons can transform not just your approach to business but also the lives of those you touch through your work and personally--friends, family and even strangers. So dream big, be present, and be the best ever--by your standards on your terms. #sogood #inspiration #motivation #leadership #franchisefamily
