McDonald’s has been forced to remove an item from its breakfast menu – just two days after bringing it back.
After re-launching the fan favourite earlier this week, on Wednesday February 7, the fast food chain has since taken Breakfast Wraps off the menu– due to ‘unprecedented demand.’
A spokeswoman for McDonald’s said they had to do this to ‘avoid running out’ of all wider breakfast items.
On X (formerly Twitter) the McDonald’s account joked: ‘Oh wrap! Breakfast Wrap fans, we owe you an apology.’
But the good news is the famous wrap – which includes a pork sausage patty, two round free-range eggs, a slice of bacon, a crispy potato rosti and cheese – won’t be gone forever.
McDonald’s added: ‘It’s not goodbye, it’s just “see you very soon”’.
‘The Breakfast Wrap will be making its iconic return (once again) hopefully next week.’
In many ways it’s hardly surprising the return of the Breakfast Wrap was a sell-out, as people are clearly huge fans.
On X, one user called Daisy wrote: ‘Just had a McDonald’s breakfast wrap for the first time since they got took off the menu but oh my they still get a solid 10/10, the wraps have to be the best breakfast item.’
While Darragh J Gavin added: ‘McDonald’s changing the game with that breakfast wrap, good lord.’

The hearty breakfast wrap – which comes in at £4.39 a pop or £5.89 for a meal deal– was first scrapped in 2020, leaving fans heartbroken and begging for its return.

But this isn’t the only switch-up at McDonald’s of recent times. Earlier this month, the chain unveiled its ‘spiciest burger ever’ (and we tried it and offered our verdict).
Likewise, the chain has launched a new pink menu for Valentine’s Day – with new burgers and McFlurry flavours.
