It’s the most wonderful time of the year: the McDonald’s Festive Menu has been unveiled, featuring an array of Christmas favourites we’ve come to know and love.

We’ve been gifted five new treats this year, with old favourites including the Chicken Big Mac returning with a bang.

But – and it’s a big but – McDonald’s fans have admitted to throwing ‘tantrums’ as they’ve noticed that an iconic Christmas item is missing from the menu.

That’s right, the beloved Festive Pie is no more. Or, at least, it won’t be gracing us with all its wonder this season.

The Festive pie was a festive apple pie, filled with mincemeat and custard.

McDonald’s aficionados have taken to social media to air their thoughts about the missing pie – and they aren’t happy.

‘Not ashamed to admit I have had multiple tantrums over McDonald’s not bringing back the festive pie when it and the cheese bites are the best Christmas snacks’, one dedicated fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Another distraught fan fumed on Facebook: ‘Woke up to the devastating news that there will be no festive pie offered by McDonald’s this year.

‘You have ruined Christmas.’

It’s not the first time fans have been left disgruntled – the custardy slice of heaven also vanished from the 2019 menu.

‘Another year, another McDonald’s “Christmas” Menu, another bitter blow for anyone who remembers the majestic McDonald’s Festive Pie’, one disgruntled fan wrote on X at the time.

‘After several years of glaring omission, I think it’s finally time to put hopes of a return to rest. RIP you delicious, deep fried, parcel of joy.’

Another wrote: ‘I need McDonalds to keep that festive pie on the menu all year long like idc I NEED IT’.

There is, however, another pie on the block this season, though: the Galaxy Caramel Pie, a combination of crispy chocolate pastry filled with Galaxy Caramel sauce. Sure, it’s no Festive Pie, but it does sound like a delicious Yuletide treat.

Amidst the absence of this crispy, delicious snack, McDonald’s has assured customers that the Cheese Melt Dippers, another festive essential stuffed with camembert and paired with a tomato dip, are safe. Phew.

Elsewhere, other new additions to the menu include the McDonald’s Chicken Combo, a festive feast of 10 Chicken Selects, a 20 Chicken McNugget Sharebox, four Selects dips and four standard dips.

There’s also the there’s the Galaxy Chocolate McFlurry with chocolate stars and sauce, which can be swapped out for caramel instead.

The McDonald’s Festive Menu will be landing in stores on November 22, launching from 11am. But be quick: you’ll only be able to snap up these morsels of Christmassy joy for six weeks.

Go fill your boots (and your stockings).
