What are the characteristics of a Weber charcoal grill?
The charcoal grill is perfect for people who love food cooked over an open fire, and are happy to spend a bit of extra time and energy to get the authentic experience. The charcoal grill is the modern fireplace of our age, and gives you plenty of opportunities to experiment with direct and indirect cooking, smoking, baking, low & slow cooking, and much more. Many have tried to copy the experience, but there is only one original: Weber’s charcoal grill. Its features include:
- Porcelain-enamelled lid and base which retains heat and does not rust
- Glass-reinforced nylon handles which can withstand any weather conditions
- Aluminium vent at the top to ensure the right air supply
- Coated steel cooking and charcoal grates which withstand rust and are easy to maintain
- Charcoal rails or charcoal fuel holders (depending on the model) which easily keep the charcoal or briquettes in place

Gas grills are perfect for people who want to barbecue regularly – even when they are pressed for time. Just press the button, and a few minutes later you are ready to barbecue. Gas grills are an outdoor kitchen with everything you need – and offer a wealth of optional extras. There is a gas grill to suit every need, from the dapper beginner model, to the professional luxury model which makes even the most extravagant barbecue enthusiast green with envy.
Gas grill features include:- A solid trolley frame which provides a stable base for the grill

The Q®grill is perfect for people who live life on the move. This sporty gas grill allows you to be mobile, without compromising the barbecue experience. The small Q®1000 models allow you to barbecue anywhere, any time. The Q®2000 series is ideal for the boat, caravan, or balcony. The large Q®3000 series looks great on any patio. The award-winning Weber®Q®is also available as an electric grill. Q®grill features include:
- Ready in no time, making the grill perfect for everyday use
- The lid and base are made of cast aluminium, making the grill heatproof and very portable
- A two-part cast-iron grate which optimally distributes the heat – and is also porcelain-enamelled, increasing durability and ease-of-use

What different grill models does Weber have – and which one is best suited to me?
There are four basic Weber grill types, each with their own advantages: the charcoal grill, gas grill, Weber®Q®and electric grill. Speak to your local Weber dealer, who can help you choose a grill model based on your requirements.

The award-winning Weber Q is also available as an electric grill.The electric grill is perfect for anyone who wants to grill in locations where open fire is prohibited (this excludes both charcoal and gas grills) – for example in densely populated residential areas. The electric grill saves the day here. All you need is a power outlet, and you are set to go. Weber's electric grill belongs to the Weber®Q®series, and therefore boasts the same great features in terms of design, speed and mobility as the Q®series gas grill. It only uses approx. 2.2 kWh per hour. Please note, all Weber grills are for outdoor use only.
What is the difference between the Weber, Weber Original and Weber Style accessory categories?
Although Weber is a grill brand, it is much more than a grill – Weber is the ultimate barbecue experience. This means the accessories are just as important a part of the experience as the grill itself – and a part which is constantly being developed and updated. Our accessories are divided into three categories: Weber, Weber Original and Weber Style.
The Weber range consists of basic accessories and spare parts which are essential to barbecuing – such as a meat thermometer, chimney starter, cover, cooking grate and Flavorizer Bars.
The Weber Original range covers functional accessories which help you get the most out of your grill – such as a rotisserie, grill brush, tool set, rib rack and griddle.
The Weber Style range consists of exclusive accessories with a focus on stylish design and ultimate functionality in order to make barbecuing a total experience – such as salad servers, a pepper mill, tool set, poultry roaster and smoke box.What type of grate should I choose – cast-iron, porcelain-enamelled or stainless steel?
The various grate types each have their own advantages, so it comes down to personal taste. A cast-iron grate is better at retaining heat, a porcelain-enamelled grate is easy to clean, while a stainless steel grate generally lasts longer. Two features all our grates have in common are that they create perfect grill patterns on the food, and require minimal maintenance.
It is important to remember that a cooking grate is a 'wearing part' which is unlikely to last the full lifetime of the grill. Always clean the grate using a grill brush after use. Grease the cooking grate before and after barbecuing to prevent food sticking. Never use olive oil. Use a neutral cooking oil and apply using a piece of paper towel and barbecue tongs. The easiest option is to apply Weber's BBQ oil spray before adding the food – as this avoids getting your fingers dirty. Once you have finished using the grill and have brushed the cooking grate clean, it is always a good idea to apply Weber's special grill protection oil. In contrast to cooking oil, it is absorbed by and protects the grate. This is an excellent idea if the grill is not going to be used for an extended period. It also makes future cleaning easier. The oil is 100% natural and therefore does not need to be washed off prior to using the grate the next time. If you follow these tips your cooking grate can last for many years.

Can my Weber grill really cope with being outside all year round?
A Weber grill is made of solid first-class materials, so it doesn't have to be put away during the less barbecue-friendly times of year. You can safely leave your grill on the patio all year round, as it is built to withstand all normal weather conditions. This is why we confidently offer a rust and enamel guarantee on our grills. If you put a cover on your grill, you also protect it against grime, dust, sand and humidity, etc. However, it is a good idea to clean your grill regularly using water, soap and Weber's specially formulated cleaning products, as food residue and dirt can easily adhere and cause undesirable surface rust. Please note that surface rust can be removed and is therefore not covered by Weber's warranty program.

If you have a warranty claim on a Weber product you should take the product and your receipt to the dealer from whom you purchased the product as soon as you discover the fault. If the product is a grill, be sure to take along the grill serial number, which is printed in the manual and on a sticker on the grill. The dealer will then assess whether the product is defective and contact Weber if so. Defects and damage resulting from abnormal weather conditions, incorrect use of the product or normal wear and tear are not covered by the warranty. Any product defects are naturally covered by our warranty program and will be rectified. You should not contact us directly, but let your dealer process the warranty claim.
Weber Customer Service may ask for documentation for the claim in some situations, in the form of photos of the damage, or return of the product. Remember that the better the photographic documentation you send to Weber Customer Service, the better able we are to assess the claim.
There is rust on my Weber grill – what should I do?
Weber's rust warranty guarantees against corrosion – this means the warranty does not cover surface rust. Surface rust is often seen on welded joints and can be easily removed using Weber's cleaning products or non-acidic oil (e.g. WD40). However, if you find corrosion due to rust, and you have used and cared for the product in accordance with the instructions which came with it, your product is naturally covered by the warranty program and the defect will be rectified.
What is special about Weber's warranty program?
All Weber products are covered by a comprehensive warranty program, with up to 10 years' warranty on selected components of given products.
To be eligible under Weber's warranty program you must have proof of the date of purchase in the form of a receipt. The product must also have been used as prescribed in the instructions which came with the grill.
The warranty program does not cover damage caused by misuse, inappropriate use, incorrect installation, modifications, inadequate maintenance, inadequate cleaning, etc. The warranty does not cover damage due to abnormal weather conditions (such as hail, storms, earthquakes, etc.) or contact with chemicals, direct or airborne (such as storing or using the product in environments high in chlorine or salt). Please also refer to the warranty provisions that came with your Weber product.
If you fulfil the above conditions you are entitled to make a claim – this means that the part(s) of the product which are defective will be repaired or replaced at no charge. Contact your local Weber dealer, who will process your claim.Why should I choose a Weber product over other grill brands?
There is a reason why many people call any kind of kettle grill a "Weber". It is because Weber were the pioneers when the original kettle grill was introduced in 1952 – and have continued to break new ground ever since.
